Why Appear on The Second Bite Show?

The Second Bite Show is a podcast built for entrepreneurs who’ve already done the hard work — built something meaningful, navigated the messy middle, and come out the other side with real lessons to share. If you’ve scaled a service business, executed an acquisition, navigated a difficult exit, or transformed a struggling company into a thriving one, your story deserves to be heard.

Who Makes a Great Guest

The ideal Second Bite Show guest is an operator or entrepreneur with direct, hands-on experience in growing or exiting a service-based business. Clayton Turner’s audience consists of business owners and investors in the $1M–$10M revenue range who are actively looking for practical insights, frameworks, and hard-won lessons they can apply to their own companies.

Guests who perform best on the show are those who can speak candidly about specific challenges, failures, and turning points — not just highlight-reel success stories. Whether you engineered a high-multiple exit, turned around a struggling acquisition, built a repeatable sales engine from scratch, or cracked the code on hiring and retaining great people, that’s the kind of substantive experience the audience values most.

What to Expect from the Interview Process

Once your application is reviewed and approved, you’ll receive a scheduling link to book a recording time that works for you. Interviews are conducted via video call and typically run between 45 and 60 minutes. Clayton does a brief pre-interview conversation to align on talking points and ensure the discussion will be as valuable as possible for listeners.

The conversation is intentionally unscripted and conversational — Clayton is known for going deep on the mechanics of what actually worked and what didn’t, rather than staying at a surface level. Guests frequently say the interview felt more like a strategic conversation than a standard podcast recording.

Topics Covered on the Show

The Second Bite Show covers a wide range of topics relevant to service business owners and operators. Common themes include business acquisitions and the buy-then-build strategy, scaling operations without losing quality, building systems and teams that don’t depend on the owner, navigating exits and working with private equity, marketing and sales strategies for service businesses, and the mental and operational challenges of entrepreneurship in the $1M–$10M space.
